We believe in happier and healthier lives

Our approach to CSR

WBA is proud to be a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) leader. We proactively support the personal health and wellbeing of our employees and customers to help them lead happier and healthier lives. It is only natural this desire extends to the communities and the environment in which we work. Below are highlights of our CSR initiatives in the UK and the U.S. and our global progress across our four key CSR focus areas.

CSR footprint

Challenging modern slavery

In 2017, we published a statement outlining all the steps we have taken to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking practices. We have conducted over 1,200 ethical compliance assessments on new and existing suppliers to ensure that their principles are aligned with ours.

We are a signatory to the Consumer Goods Forum 2020 and have committed to achieve zero net deforestation by 2020. By 2015, Boots UK sourced more than 90% of wood, pulp and paper products from credibly certified or recycled sources.

Advisory panels for sustainability

We have worked with independent experts on the Advisory Panel for Sustainability to identify targets for 2017, which include creating brands with purpose that have both responsible and sustainable supply chains.

We are here to help

As part of our commitment to supporting young people across the globe, we have donated over 15 million life-saving polio and measles vaccines to children in need through initiatives such as Get a Shot. Give a Shot. We are major supporters of the WE Charity, which empowers change with resources that create sustainable impact.
